Swope Goes Green

More than just cars

Swope Goes Green

We care about the communities we serve and the environment we share. Across the Swope Family of Dealerships, practical facility improvements, electrified vehicle choices and hands-on service help turn that commitment into action.

Everyday steps with lasting value

From conserving energy and water to supporting local green spaces, our team continues to look for responsible ways to reduce waste and strengthen Central Kentucky.

Smarter energy use

Several Swope dealerships use solar panels to help reduce reliance on the power grid. Motion-sensor lighting at many locations also helps conserve electricity when spaces are not in use.

Electric and hybrid choices

Our dealerships offer a growing selection of electric and hybrid vehicles for drivers who want efficient options without giving up comfort, capability or style.

Community action

Swope team members volunteer in local cleanup efforts and community gardens and support organizations that care for area wildlife and natural spaces.

Water conservation

Aerated faucets, metered water flow and other efficient fixtures help reduce water use at participating Swope facilities.

Less single-use waste

The Swope Toyota Café has moved away from single-use plastics in favor of biodegradable or reusable products wherever practical.

What comes next

We are exploring opportunities to support native pollinators and local biodiversity as part of our continuing environmental efforts.

Community first

We show up where we live

Since 1952, the Swope Family of Dealerships has been part of Central Kentucky. Our environmental work builds on that local commitment through volunteer cleanups, community-garden projects and support for organizations working to protect our shared surroundings.

These efforts are powered by our employees and community partners, who bring practical ideas and generous energy to every project.

Solar at Swope Toyota

Solar panels at Swope Toyota help generate electricity on-site and reduce the amount of power the dealership needs to purchase from the grid.

From February 2022 through August 19, 2026, the eGauge snapshot below shows the facility used 1.63 GWh of electricity and generated 1.53 GWh of solar energy. Across that recorded period, on-site generation equaled approximately 94% of the facility’s recorded electricity use, with a net 99.2 MWh purchased from the grid.

About this example: The dashboard is a historical snapshot captured August 19, 2026, covering activity since February 2022. It is not a guarantee of current or future production. Solar output and facility consumption change with weather, season, operating conditions and energy demand.

Growing together

Local partnerships make the difference

Our next steps will continue to focus on practical projects with community value, including opportunities that support native plants, pollinators and healthy local ecosystems.

Programs and participation may vary by dealership and over time.
